2024年10月3日（木）～10月7日（月）、北海道大学大学院保健科学研究院の研究グループ（主任研究者 池田敦子教授、分担研究者 ラヘル・メスフィン・ケテマ特任助教、研究協力者 曾怡特任助教）が、ベトナムの国立労働環境衛生研究所（NIOEH）を訪問しました。
訪問では、ベトナムのハノイ郊外にある電子廃棄物処理労働者に関する調査準備のため、NIOEH、ベトナム環境保健管理庁、フェニカ大学公衆衛生学部の主要担当者との会議を行いました。会議では、調査プロトコルの確定、研究倫理承認取得状況の更新、インフォームドコンセントの準備、質問票、参加者の募集方法等を議論しました。調査準備を円滑に進めるために、両方の協力者に個別および共同のタスクが割り当てられました。さらに、この訪問において、北海道大学環境健康科学研究教育センター（WHOCC環境化学物質による健康障害の予防、JPN-91）とNIOEH（WHOCC労働衛生、VTN-3）間の共同研究協定に調印致しました。

From Thursday, October 3rd to Monday, October 7th, the Hokkaido University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Japan team—comprising Principal Investigator (PI) Professor Atsuko Ikeda, Co-PI Appointed Assistant Professor Rahel Mesfin Ketema, and Research Collaborator Appointed Assistant Professor Yi Zeng—visited the National Institute of Occupational and Environmental Health (NIOEH) in Vietnam.
The visit focused on meetings with key personnel from NIOEH, the Vietnam Health Environment Management Agency, and the Faculty of Public Health at Phenikaa University to finalize preparations for a survey on e-waste workers in the suburb of Hanoi, Vietnam. Key discussions included the survey protocol, institutional review board (IRB )updates, informed consent preparation, questionnaires, and participant recruitment strategies. Individual and joint tasks were assigned to both collaborators to facilitate survey preparation. Additionally, the visit marked the official signing of a collaborative Research Agreement between the Center for Environmental and Health Sciences, Hokkaido University (WHOCC for Environmental Health and Prevention of Chemical Hazards, JPN-91), and NIOEH (WHOCC for Occupational Health, VTN-3).
